The Moon Meets The Two Biggest Planets At Their Best Among Winter's Brightest Stars

The winter sky holds many bright celestial sites, such as the Orion Nebula and the Pleiades and Hyades clusters. This view shows the sky on January 10th at 9:00 PM, as seen from mid-northern latitudes.


The two bright planets Saturn and Jupiter join the Moon and some of the brightest stars in the winter sky. This view shows the sky on January 15th at 8:00 PM, as seen from mid-northern latitudes.
