Mars And Mercury Pair Up And The Rival Of Mars Says Good-bye

In early October, the heart of the Scorpion, reddish Antares, dips below the horizon and out of view two hours after sunset. This view shows the sky one hour after sunset, as seen from mid-northern latitudes.



Mercury and Mars are less than 3 degrees apart on October 10th. This view shows the sky one hour before sunrise, as seen from mid-northern latitudes.
