Starry Night This Week

Each week most PBS stations air "Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer", the world's first and only weekly TV series on naked-eye astronomy. The Starry Night images on this page illustrate the show for the week of Monday June 3, 2002. You can view the complete show script, or watch a RealPlayer video of the show.

Even Though The Great Planetary Lineup is Over, The Super Jupiter/Venus/Moon Sky Show Continues

On Monday June 3rd, Venus and Jupiter are only a little more than 1 1/2 degrees apart. A great site through binoculars!

Jupiter gets really close to the Moon on June 12th.

The following day on June 13th, Venus the most brilliant of all the planets, will be side by side with our nearest neighbor the Moon.
