Starry Night This Week
Each week most PBS stations air "Jack
Horkheimer: Star Gazer", the world's first and only weekly TV series
on naked-eye astronomy. The Starry Night images on this page illustrate
the show for the week of Monday April 8, 2002. You can
view the complete show script, or watch
a RealPlayer video of the show.
The Great Planetary Line-Up Begins
April 14th just after sunset at dusk, facing west where you will see an exquisite pairing of a 2 day old slender sliver of a crescent Moon with the brightest planet of them all, a planet the same size as our earth and our nearest planet neighbor, 8,000 mile wide Venus.
