A City Of Stars In Summer Skies

The 3 bright stars of the Summer Triangle dominate the summer sky. From mid-northern latitudes, Vega and Deneb will be almost directly overhead at 10:00 PM in late August.

You can draw a straight line connecting the bright stars Deneb, Vega and Arcturus. The Hercules cluster lies about halfway between Vega and Arcturus.

A close-up look at the Hercules globular star cluster. This cluster contains as many as half a million stars.
