Day Star Day : A Celebration of The Summer Solstice And The Star We Call Our Sun

The summer solstice is a point on the celestial sphere in the constellation Taurus, almost exactly on the boundary between Gemini and Taurus. The sun moves through Taurus in June, crossing the summer solstice and moving into Gemini on June 20 this year.

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The farther north you go, the longer the day is. In Anchorage, Alaska, the sun is above the horizon before 4 AM…

…and still above the horizon 18 hours later.
