A Jupiter-Saturn Alert and The Wonderful Full Moon Of June

Jupiter and Saturn can be seen close together just before sunrise in early June. This view is from June 11. The Pleiades star cluster lies to the left of Jupiter.

Mercury is visible just after sunset in the west in early June. Use the two bright stars in Gemini, Castor and Pollux, to help you locate Mercury.

The full moon of June 16 traces the lowest path across the sky of any full moon all year. The higher your latitude is, the lower in the sky this path will be.

Click here to view a QuickTime movie of the moon's path on June 16. This movie is about 1.1 MB in size.
